Oookay, I didn't expect to see this one today. Max Payne 3 is official, folks. As I'm sure you all know, players are put into the shoes of one Max Payne, "a hard-boiled New York City detective with a penchant for violence, out to avenge the death of his family."

Max Payne 3 "delivers more of the classic elements and hyper-intense action that fans have come to love, while moving the story of Max in a new direction." Since leaving the NYPD, Max has drifted from bad to worse. Double-crossed and a long way from home, Max is trapped in a city full of violence and bloodshed, using his weapons and instincts in a desperate search for the truth and a way out.

Sounds about right. I'm sold.

"We’re starting a new chapter of Max's life with this game," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "This is Max as we’ve never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation."

Max Payne 3 is going to arrive in winter 2009 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Take Two a anunţat că Max Payne 3 va fi produs de Rockstar Vancouver şi va fi lansat în iarna acestui an pentru PC, PS3 şi Xbox 360.

După cum a declarat Sam Houser, fondator Rockstar Games, jocul ne va oferi un nou capitol din viaţa lui Max Payne, a cărui povestea va curge de data aceasta într-o cu total altă direcţie. Please don't kill him.

După ce a mai îmbătrânit cu câţiva ani, Max s-a hotărât să-şi agaţe insigna în cui şi să părăsească New York-ul. Trădat şi departe de casă, Max se trezeşte captiv într-un oraş măcinat de corupţie şi violenţă şi porneşte într-o căutare disperată a adevărului, apelând din nou la instincte şi la armele din dotare.

Mai cinic şi mai plictisit de viaţă ca niciodată, Max Payne are acum o ultimă şansă de supravieţuire. Max Payne 3. Din iarnă pe PC, PS3 şi Xbox 360.
